Description:

This is a lighthouse stylized after a typical 19th century American lighthouse. Lighthouses often included a home for their keeper (an obsolete profession today) and a small building containing a foghorn. Neither of these additional structures are included (if they were, then this would be called a light station). Before electrification and automization, the great fresnel-lensed lamp of a lighthouse was fueled by oil or kerosene, and the rotating motion of the lamp was powered by a wind-up weight not unlike those found in grandfather clocks. In the U.S., lighthouses were administered by the Lighthouse Service until it was merged into the Coast Guard in the early 20th century.

This lighthouse won’t prevent ships from running aground (and plowing through your city), it does make a coastline seem nicer. It consumes 0 electricity (though it is required to be hooked up to the grid) and consumes 0 water.

Level 4 Monument

For those who wish to build multiple lighthouses in one city (perhaps to recreate the ending scenes of Bioshock Infinite), I recommend Bloody Penguin’s Not So Unique Buildings Mod.
