Description:

Harbours are a great way of allowing tourists to enter your city 100 at a time, except they are completely under utilised.

This started as a harbour with a single six lane two way highway to the front with pedestrian bridges at either end for the convenience of placing bus stops. That asset is viewable elsewhere in my workshop.

This is an expansion on that asset and includes a second six lane two way highway utilised as the far end of a small, more formal, bus station which includes integrated spaces for two metro stations. You cannot fail to have noticed the overhead pedestrian pathway system. I changed the trees immediately outside the harbour building simply because I wanted to (the best reason for changing anything in this game).

Thoughts:

Metro: – I added the second metro station space because whereas there are always going to be metro links to the main urban/commercial centres I usually have a coastal metro line containing other stations as well as these harbours. A coastal metro line always works well for me.

Roads: – The standard road did my head in really quickly and just had to go!

Bus Station: – Not huge admittedly but in this case a local convenience rather than a regional utility.

Pedestrians: – Ignore pedestrians at your peril. These days I always include overhead pedestrian pathways in the basic layout of any new area before zoning and this includes connecting the new paths area to any/all surrounding overhead pathways. The number of people that are prepared to walk, and the distances that they will happily cover, are astounding once you have provided them with an uninterrupted overhead route.

As usual I recommend this asset because I use it myself and it works well for me. Feel free to change it to your hearts content.
