Woolco Department Store
A subsidiary of the F. W. Woolworth Company, Woolco operated 160 stores in Canada at its zenith, before being bought out by Walmart in 1994. A typical store contained over 100,000 square feet of retail space, such as this particular model.
When Square One Shopping Centre opened in Mississauga, Ontario, Woolco was one of the major tenants. This location is now a Wal-Mart, with very few changes to the exterior appearance.
