Usage

At first you have to subscribe to this mod and enable it in the content manager. At least now you should check the compatibility section and disable every conflicting mod.
While it is the best practice to open (and adjust) the settings of a new mod, I recommend to start/load a game before adjusting the settings, because the changes are set immediately. This means you get a (blurry) live preview of your adjustments.

Basics
There are 2 modes:
1. vanilla/collapsed mode for compatibility reasons
2. expanded/extended mode
You can toggle them via hotkey, a click on the expansion button and a rightclick on a toolbar button. The expanded mode has vertical scrollbars only.

Reposition
You can reposition the toolbar and the toolbar panel individually via the settings menu.

Resize
In expanded mode you can adjust the additional columns and rows to fit your needs.

Reset
Temporary layout can be reset to setting values.

Scroll To
Per default you can select an item and scroll away. When you change the tab (e.g. Small Roads » Highways) and you come back, the panel will show you its last state. Then it can be very frustrating to find the selected item within the panel, especially when it’s small. With this feature the selected item will automatically scroll into your view.

Expansion Button
The button will appear next to the roads-button in the toolbar. It can be hidden, but I recommand to let it be shown. By clicking on it you can toggle between vanilla and expanded mode. Additionally the button shows you the current size and scale of the toolbar panel. If you want you can also let it show the real time.
When the cursor is hovering the button, you can use these functions:

  • Left/Right Button: Toggle between vanilla and expanded mode
  • Middle Button: Reset toolbar panel to setting values
  • Scrollwheel: Remove/Add number of additional rows (doesn’t affect settings)
  • ALT + Scrollwheel: Remove/Add number of additional columns (doesn’t affect settings)
  • SHIFT + Scrollwheel: Adjust scaling (doesn’t affect settings)

Extended functionality to toolbar buttons
Buttons like Roads or Parks in the toolbar behave like the expansion button (of course except the leftclick):

  • Right Button: Toggle between vanilla and expanded mode
  • Middle Button: Reset toolbar panel to setting values
  • Scrollwheel: Remove/Add number of additional rows (doesn’t affect settings)
  • ALT + Scrollwheel: Remove/Add number of additional columns (doesn’t affect settings)
  • SHIFT + Scrollwheel: Adjust scaling (doesn’t affect settings)

Hotkeys
Hotkeys can be used for faster usage. They won’t harm any other mods, input fields or something else. But it is important not to double-assign your hotkeys!

(In-)Compatibility

In general there might be issues when you use another mods that change the behaviour of the toolbar. You should unsubscribe from them, disable them or pay attention for side effects. Such known mods are:

MAT works with every mod, that uses the vanilla structure to display items. In addition to that:

  • Ploppable RICO is not supported (yet?) – you can use Find It! instead
  • Because of Find It!‘s own (and different) implementation of scrollbars, MAT‘s vertical scrollbar feature is disabled. You will recognize this issue (only) when you resize the toolbar panel to just one row height. Sadly the Scroll To feature also doesn’t work because of that.

Knows Issues

Beside the issues inside the compatibility section:

  • Nothing known.

Q & A

Can this mod break my savegame?
No.

Resize It! is better because it can …
Feel free to use Resize It! instead, which offers some nice features, and unsubscribe from this mod – nobody will blame you for that.

I wanna have horizontal scrolling! Possible?
At the moment I’m not willing to implement this, because if offers some issues.

So this mod is incompatible with Shicho?
No. Shicho is still in progress and offers many features. If you enable a feature that affects the toolbar, it’s possible you get unwanted side effects. Disabling these features in Shicho should be enough. Of course other features are not involved!

How can I remove a hotkey assignment?
Assign it to backspace.

If your question hasn’t been answered yet: feel free to ask me.
