Bis-Octa 兩儀-八卦

My first big project for Cities: Skylines published on Steam Workshop – a metropolis of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, i.e. Bis, Tris, Tetra, Penta, Hexa, Hepta and Octa – embodying a mix of Chinese and European cultures.
本人首個《都市天際線》大型作品，糅合中、歐文化，集兩儀、三才、四象、五行、六合、七曜、八卦概念於一身的大都會。

While the English names derive from English prefixes meaning 2 to 8 respectively, the Chinese names refer to concepts in traditional Chinese culture.
中文名称源自中国传统文化概念，英文名称则源自英文单词中表达数字2至8的前缀。

BIS (natural reserve): The number ‘2’ is reflected in the two fundamental forms of “yin” and “yang” (兩儀"liangyi") in traditional Chinese culture. This reserve, located at the heart of the city of Octa (八卦, see below), demonstrates these two forms in the shape of a Taiji made by terraforming.
兩儀自然保護區：以中國傳統文化中的陰、陽“兩儀”體現“2”。本區位於八卦市（下面詳述）中心，用自然地形構成太極圖案，呈現陰陽兩儀。

TRIS (city): The number ‘3’ is reflected in a triangular high-rise down town area. A temple, a meteorite, and a statute are respectively located at each end of the triangle to stand for the ‘three essential factors’ (三才"sancai"), namely heaven, earth and people (humanity), in traditional Chinese culture.
三才市：以三角形的高層中心城區體現“3”，三角端點分別以寺廟、隕石、人像，象徵中國傳統文化中的天、地、人三才。

TETRA (city): The number ‘4’ is reflected by the four fundamental elements of the world, namely water (aqua), fire (ignis), earth (terra), and air (aer), in European culture. The layout of the city features two perpendicular axes. A garden of each element is located at each end of the axis, and a district is constructed around the garden, hence four districts of Tetra-Aqua, Tetra-Ignis, Tetra-Terra and Tetra-Aer. The garden at the cross of the axes signifies the convergence of the four elements, with a European-styled squarish district built around it, ie the Tetra-Core. The Chinese name “四象” ("sixiang") refers to the four states in the Taiji, namely "major yang", "minor yang", "major yin", and "minor yin".
四象市：以歐洲文化中的四大元素水、火、土、風體現“4”。整個城以兩條互相垂直的軸線形成“十”字形佈局，“十”字的四個端點分別有體現水、火、土、風元素的公園，圍繞該公園發展出各自城區（水象區、火象區、土象區、風象區）。 “十”字中心的公園象徵四象交匯，以此發展為正方形的歐風中心城區——“四象之心”區。 “四象”的中文名表示太極中的四種現象：太陽、少陽、太陰、少陰（即“兩儀生四象”）。

PENTA (city): The number ‘5’ is reflected by a pentagram at the heart of the urban area. The Chinese name “五行” ("wuxing") refers to the five fundamental elements of the world, namely metal, wood, water , fire, and earth, in traditional Chinese culture.
五行市：市中心區以五角星體現“5”。中文“五行”是指中國傳統文化中的五大元素：金、木、水、火、土。

HEXA (city): The number ‘6’ is reflected by hexagrams (frequently used in European magic circles) and hexagons. The Chinese name “六合” ("liuhe") refers to the six directions of up, down, east, west, south and north.
六合市：以六角形和歐洲魔法陣常用的六芒星體現“6”。中文“六合”是指上、下、東、西、南、北6個方向。

HEPTA (amusement park): The number ‘7’ is reflected by a heptagram (which is also used in magic circles). The Chinese name “七曜” ("qiyao") refers to the sun, the moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter , Venus, and Saturn.
七曜樂園：以七芒星（也有用於魔法陣）體現“7”。中文“七曜”是指日、月、火、水、木、金、土七大天體。

OCTA (city): The number ‘8’ is reflected by a Bagua (八卦), an octagon with eight trigrams in it. In particular, the layout of the city follows the so-called “Fuxi Bagua” with the BIS natural reserve ( mentioned above) located at its heart, so as to indicate the continuum from the two forms (yin and yang) to the eight trigrams.
八卦市：以中國傳統文化的“八卦”體現“8”——整個城區按“伏羲八卦”佈局，市中心為上述“兩儀”，體現“兩儀生四象，四像生八卦”的概念。

Note: All customised names in this save game (e.g. district names, building names, public transport line names etc) are in both Chinese and English.
