Columna de la Libertad – Santiago de Cuba
The Columna de la Libertad was built in only 18 days and is situated on the Plaza de Marte in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. The Plaza was established by the spanish army and named after the greek god of war. In 1902 the plaza was renamed as Plaza de la Libertad and the first stone for the liberty column was layed by Cubas first President Tomas Estrada Palma.
