Built in 1662 as the residence of Jacob Cromhout, a well to do merchant, this design by architect Philips Vingboons is a great example of dutch classicism. The wealthy Cromhout family lived in this building for over a century. In the present day, the building now houses a museum of period art and artifacts. The upper floors house a bible museum.
