Description:

This is a recreation of BP’s service stations as they appeared prior to the Harmony refurbishment project, which updated BP service stations across NSW and the rest of Australia starting sometime around 2016. This is a commission, sponsored by HayleyFan219.

The workshop item includes a low density commercial 4×4 growable building, and 8 included props. I am not sure why the scaffold goes so tall when it gets built. The default growable doesn’t require any other assets – the first screenshot in the set shows the growable as it will appear by default – other details/decals shown have been added by me in-game. It includes several parking spaces – in the workshop, the carwash, and at some of the pumps. The sign turns off during the day but unfortunately the diffuse illumination on the canopy stays on all day.

Included items:

SydBPservo – Suburban service station
1,639 tris (1024×256) // LOD 84 tris (128×128)

SydBPcorner – Service Station Sign (BP)
100 tris (256×512) // LOD 22 tris (128×128)

SydBPprice – Gas Prices Sign
204 tris (256×128) // auto-LOD

SydBPbollard – Bollard (BP)
53 tris (64×32) // auto-LOD

SydBPbowser – Fuel Pump (BP)
1,866 tris (128×512) // auto-LOD

SydBPcarwash – Drive Thru Carwash
1,099 tris (1024×256) // LOD 32 tris (128×128)

SydBPcarwashcode – Carwash code panel
26 tris (128×64) // auto-LOD

SydMilkcrates – Milk Crates
108 tris (256×256) // auto-LOD

SydBPgascage – Gas Bottle Cage
2,598 tris (512×256) // auto-LOD

I enjoyed working on this asset and am quite happy with the props I made for it. This marks the first time I’ve used LOD baking within Blender and manually tuned LOD textures, rather than leave it to Skylines to auto-bake. I will apply this going forward.

This publication does not constitute an endorsement of British Petroleum or the fossil fuel industry at large. I believe people of all nations should organise urgently to: force the cessation of all taxpayer-funded subsidies for fossil fuel exploration, extraction and production; expropriate the assets of all fossil fuel companies and the accrued, inter-generational wealth of their executives past and present; unwind their operations and direct their obscene wealth and revenue towards climate change mitigation, renewable energy construction and innovation, and disaster relief. 🙂
