Town Hall and Belfry, Lier, Belgium
This pack contains two assets:
Lier Town Hall
Lier Bell Tower
Search for ‘Lier’ to find the assets.
You can place them together as shown in the screenshots (using Move It), or separately if you prefer.
In game, the Town Hall building is an office building and the Belfry is a monument.
The reason I made the town hall an office building and not a monument is because monuments attract so many tourists and cause traffic snarl-ups. But I realize that not everybody plays the game using the Plop the Growables mod, and you might not want the office building spawning all over the place, so if there is demand for it I can also release a school version of the town hall building so just let me know.
In real life, Lier’s gothic belfry dates from 1369, and the town hall was added some time later and restyled in the 18th century in the ‘Brabant Rococco’ style. Hence the contrasting architectural styles. The belfry is part of a Unesco World Heritage Site that includes 32 historic belfries across Belgium and northern France.
