My First Map!

This map was built using a height map of Blythe, California along the California/Arizona border. This is not a true to life recreation, I just took inspiration from that part of the U.S. I also drew much inspiration from playing on Arrowhead Valley by Flux.

Now, I am in no way an expert map creator, as noted above this is my first attempt at map making. I have played many of the best maps from the best creators out there and while they were all great fun to build on there always seemed to be some little thing I wanted to change. So here we are, in Mesa Verde.

Mesa Verde is designed for small to medium sized towns/cities all nestled in this small river valley. There are road, rail and air connections but obviously no shipping. Plenty of flat area to build on with all resources available, more oil than anything, because of desert environment. At first glance the river in the start square seems to flow slow but is suitable to handle your water/sewer needs. Although, I would recommend some custom assets to make a realistic water treatment plant.

I recommend the Arrowhead Valley theme and the Relight Neutral or Natural LUT but you are free to use what you like. Have fun building your sleepy little desert town.

Maybe one day I will get a review from the one and only BonBonB https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu2E7WDF49QL3WwNqWA1Xrg

Thank you to BonBonB for the great review and of course the coveted "Seal of Approval"

As pointed out in the review the catenary lines do cause some visual issues but this area of the U.S. doesn’t use them, so I added Catenary Replacer to the required items list.

***NOTE***

This map and associated collection may be a bit heavy for very low end PC’s. It runs very well on my PC which has an i7 8700, 16GB RAM and a GTX 1060. You could unsubscribe from a few of the trees if you are worried about performance.

Please leave a comment if you find any problems and I will do my best to fix them. Also, if you don’t mind leave a rating if you enjoyed this map.
