This is a map that has a mixture of everything. I have been planning a big rebuild of my local area, so prior to starting that I have spent 3 months or so messing about with this map to learn techniques for:
-Texturing the ground (i.e. the fields)
-Using mods effectively (they are a great thing!)
-Traffic management (I got to about 79% on this map which isn’t bad considering I suppose)
-Plopping techniques (i.e. using the Modern City Centre assets
-What a page file is
-Importance of Procedural Objects especially scaling buildings and reshaping decals
– What the lights in an airport mean and how they should be displayed

Hard lessons I learnt:
-Prop Limit
-Gradual slowdown of machine as city grows
-I need to buy a SSD to improve load time and stop jerking when scrolling the map after first loading the save.
-Never click the mouse when it is Packaging the save in maps when the CPU is under duress (BOOM)
-Don’t use underground power cables assets in water, slightest wave and they’re ruined!

Areas of interest on this map to look for: (most still unfinished but still look cool in my opinion)
-Shipping port,
-Airport
-Tourist Walt Disney world type area with theme park, zoo, nature reserve on a huge complex
-Beach resort (very unfinished)
-Golf and Spa resort (using texturing techniques for the courses rather than assets – not finished)
-Lakes with dams and overflows
-Two modern city centre cores combining plopping and MoveIt for city blocks, zoned areas, and hand designed areas
-Railyards and custom stations
-A medieval hilltop town with cobblestone tram streets and a castle on the cliff (learnt how to use symmetry tool here)
-A huge area textured to look like fields with worn grass from animals (no detailing done yet for farms etc)
-Basic Sewage treatment plant
-Prison
-Some interesting interchanges with double stacker roundabouts that are not very beautiful but function well
-External villages some plopped some zoned for comparison
-Lots of different plant techniques, varying from mass tree brush at the beginning, through to individual placed themed areas, vegetation undergrowth, grass etc
Wasteground areas with decal effects
-Countless little areas of detail to discover,e.g. the tramp living under the runway is one clue ha ha

If you are still reading, well done. I feel empowered with skills to attempt a rebuild of a real area now so watch this space.

Please play the map, if you can get all assets and mods working, I wouldn’t have a clue how to list all the assets and mods soon i hope that info is contained in the save file somewhere, this is my first save post on Steam lol. And Biffa, feel free to review it and give any feedback so I can improve on my first proper detailed build that I will attempt!
