Description:

Bringing intercity functionality to new levels.

Introduction

With the release of the Sunset Harbour DLC, I was excited to see the Intercity Bus added to an already incredible list of transport types. However, I was a little disappointed with the limited scope of the vehicles, and the fact that they only work with prefab stations. After a little experimenting, however, I discovered that a single bus path could do some incredible things, and made this!

Aimed at detailers, but functional for all, this asset has two main functions – it can:

  • Transform normal road segments into intercity bus stops – If you place the asset on the sidewalk of any road segment with anarchy, that segment will automatically be converted into a normal-looking bus stop that accepts intercity buses. This also works on existing municipal bus stops – place the asset in the same place and that stop will accept both municipal and intercity buses.
  • Create custom intercity bus terminals – By using the above method, or simply placing the asset within two tiles of a road, you can create completely custom intercity bus terminals that are 100% functional.

Both roadside bus stops converted with this asset and the asset itself will accept municipal and intercity buses, as long as it is within an appropriate distance of a road.

Nerd Notes™

This asset DOES NOT come with any of the props seen – any roadside bus stop segment created will have its normal bus stop prop, and I used custom props for the intercity terminal in the screenshots.

Fine Road Anarchy 2 is recommended to convert normal segments into bus stops – the asset is symmetrical in order to work equally well for RHD and LHD, but this means that it has to overlap road segments slightly.

Move It is also recommended for larger terminals – especially elevated ones, as the asset will snap to ground by default, but can be elevated.

The awesome custom station in the screenshots was made based on an incredible Move It export by Leeijo, whose video you can see here: Bus terminals (tutorial) – Cities Skylines: Emory Hills – 04 (You can find a link to the Move It export in the video’s description) and whose channel can be found here.

The Greyhound buses used are by DanDeKalb, ninjanoobslayer, and Dutchmountain, and can mainly be found here, as well as here.

The GO Buses used are reskinned and reimported versions of DanDeKalb’s GO buses, and the originals can be found here.

The road used in the first few screenshots was made by clus, who has made an awesome variety of roads.

The bus stop in the thumbnail used a sign from this pack by Pewex.

As always, if you like it don’t forget to rate up and share!
