Description:

The year is 2050. Climate change is real.

Sea level rise has been catastrophic for so many…but it has also created some new opportunities.

Inundation of low lying lands has created a new sea lane, shortening global trade routes considerably, and an area of formerly high ground is now an island, prominently located to command all ships that pass through these straits.

With the disruption to order caused by the refugee crisis you can assert yourself as your own de facto nation…. IF you have enough wealth and clout.

This location will give you the perfect opportunity to establish yourself as a true, independent player.

Yes, it is covered in extremely dense vegetation, but if you can manage to clear some ground and get a city started it will surely flourish in this newly vital economic zone.

Oh — and the new island has some coal on one end — which should help you establish a thriving economy. I don’t think you’ll need to worry about resources, though, with such an abundance of fishing and international trade surrounding the location of your new City State.

Good luck! It isn’t easy birthing a nation!

I wanted to make a map for a city like Singapore, and I also wanted plenty of Tuna fishing along with the other types that are more common. Cities Skylines has Tuna spawning only in fast moving water, so I created many water sources in the ocean, which makes the water appear turbulent. To make this somewhat realistic I added a lot of small islets and searocks, and created the buildable area as an island linked by a single highway and rail.

There are four plane and four sea routes, with the ships passing quite close to the city area.

I also made it virtually certain that only 9 tiles will / should be used on this map, and yet have a city that can look complete on the map without "ending for no reason".

As it is set in a Singapore-inspired environment, I used a LOT of trees / plants.

I also wanted gray rocks, for some reason, so I used the Aiguille Verte theme.
