Description:

Richview Public School was an Elementary School in Toronto Ontario, Canada. The school opened in 1963 as part of the then Etobicoke Board of Education and was the 5th iteration of Richview Elementary. The school was expanded in 1965 with an addition to the classroom wing. By 1981 the schools population had dropped significantly and as a result it was closed at some point (I could not find an exact closure date). The school remained unused until it was sold to the "Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud" (French-Catholic School Board) in 2014 and it was subsequently torn down. A new school now sits on the site of the former Richview Public School.

On a personal level this school had always been a curiosity to me, since I would see it every time I went to visit my Dad who lived in the area back around 2010 before moving. I don’t recall there ever being much activity at the building and it always just seeming to be there sitting empty.

The school is run of the mill as far as elementary schools are concerned, featuring 9 Standard Classrooms, 1 Kindergarten room, Library, and Gym
