BROOKFORD
Brookford is a map that has a shallow brook with land around it that is flat and suitable for farming. The brook is surrounded by hills covered with trees. The view is amazing especially when you use your favorite theme. The brook doesn’t have a name yet but you can give it one.
The terrain is almost completely flat but in a few places it is slightly elevated. This will allow you to build your city on the hills too. Of course the terrain is covered by the brook as well. But still there will be enough space to build a city.
Well, if you plan to build a city or small seperated towns or villages this map is a great option. I’m not saying you couldn’t build a megapolis but the idea I started with was to make this map for people who are just into building small towns. That’s what the infrastructure itself is designed for.
As I mentioned above the infrastructure is designed for small settlements. There is one narrow two-lane highway from the Mass Transit DLC, which is combinated with a one two-lane railway. Since the brook is narrow unfortunately there is no enought space for the ships. It would be a terrifying sight to watch how the huge cruise ships trying to traverse this maze, wouldn’t it? Thankfully there are four airplane paths which will be plenty for your cargo and passanger airports. But remember you can always edit this map by going to the editor.
Not everywhere in the world has places with ore and oil. There are no ore and oil in this map either. But there are enough fertile and forest areas. That means you can develop an agriculture and foresty industry. On the other hand shallow brook has three species of fish in it. There is an oportunity to develop a fishing industry as well. I believe you will have wonderful fishing ports. Nature also hides its value. The terrain is hilly in places. You can build your nature parks which I believe will be very beautiful and crowded with tourists. I don’t know what else to add but I think if you try hard you can build a city with good connectivity, good industry, and tourism. A city where people will be happy to live and tourists will be amazed.
As a creator I will recommend you to unlock exactly those 9 tiles that are shown in the diagram. Of course this is only a recommendation and you are free to unlock tiles that you prefer. A matter of preference. And of course this applies to people who don’t want to use mods. If you are using mods, I guess you know which ones to use. There are mods for unlocking tiles or adding natural sources.
When you start playing you will be right in the centre of the map. This tile is perfect to start building a city. There is enough space for a residential area and for an industrial area. If you want I would suggest you purchase all 9 tiles at once and then start building the city. Try to build the industrial zone along the north and northeast. These locations are ideal in that there is a rail line and a highway. There is a place to build your unique interchanges or put the ones you’ve subscribed to. I also would recommend using water towers instead of water pumping stations to prevent brook to dry. Also if you have a Sunset Harbor DLC please use an inland water treatment plant instead of a water drain pipe to not pollute the brook and prevent fishes from dying. These things will protect the nature. Of course again I say this is just advice. The choice is yours.
Here is the BROOKFORD vanilla version of the map.
