Port Arthur (traffic fix 80%)
This save mentioned traffic in its description, so you can guess why we’re here. I want to mention that this city held up relatively well during the running test, but existing traffic jams quickly grew in some distinct locations. I even assume the original map was a traffic fix attempt itself, but I thought 60% flow they got had some room for improvement.
The 1st thing I’ve done is adding overpasses where the main highway was hitting roundabouts, so this way I removed the main bottlenecks and made the highway traffic flow completely uninterrupted. Then I tried to adress the problematic main roads by expanding arterial road network and improving the key interchanges, but I quickly realised it isn’t gonna cut it, because I made unwanted shortcuts to northern districts where the highway acess was too indirect. So there was no doubt a new freeway segment connecting roads into a loop was necessary. It involved complicated overpasses and tunnels, therefore this fix took longer than I first expected. The road situation in general was far from a disaster (you could even argue the fix wasn’t nacessary), but the sheer size of this city meant I had to put more work into it than usual.
Also I 100% know someone can improve this city even more (even though it’s already been fixed twice probably lol), because this time I decided to completely ignore transit, which was nonexistent
About technical stuff:
Obviously, I used some mods and road assets to pull everything off with this level of quality and effeciency. If you want to run this save, you have to find it in the game menu content manager and press "subscribe to all" button. And advanced TMPE AI with a despawning ban are a must-have.
