Sandgrazers
Sandgrazers are the largest fauna on Hanan. They walk upright on two powerful fur-clad legs while their torsos are hairless and shielded from the harsh sun by a massive flattened tail adaptation that reticulates to provide shade over the entire body. This tail is also covered with hard scales; perhaps a defense against predators. They have no forelimbs. Their eyes hang on flaps on either side of their head, above a scoop-like mouth used to skim the crystal sands for mineral nutrients.
