Nokia Canada Headquarters [RICO]

Nokia’s Canadian Headquarters located in Ottawa Ontario, Canada. This building opened in 1988 to be the headquarters of Newbridge Networks. Originally the complex was just a single 3 story building but a 6 story addition would be added in the the early 90’s. By 1999 the complex had been expanded further with an additional 3 and 6 story block, as well as a 10 story tower. In 2000 Newbridge Networks would be acquired by Alcatel who would continue to use the complex. Finally in 2016 Nokia would purchase Alcatel-Lucent and with it the large office complex in Ottawa. Today Nokia still uses the large complex as both a corporate office as well as a research & development centre (one of Nokia’s largest). However it appears this complex’s days are numbered as Nokia plans to construct a new R&D facility in Ottawa as this one no longer fits Nokia’s needs. This complex is to be demolished and redeveloped for residential use.
