11-19 San Kan Street
新勤街11-19號
Prewar shophouse building on San Kan Street, Sheung Shui, Hong Kong. Built in 1933
Located in the former market town of Shek Wu Hui[en.wikipedia.org], Sheung Shui[en.wikipedia.org], the actual building is located within a group of old village buildings in an alley that is not accessible by car. Its garnished facade and heavily decorated top, which is uncommon even for prewar structures, add to its uniqueness. Remaining in the busy town center, unaffected by redevelopment for nearly a century, makes this building more special.
Buildings like this were built in market towns in the New Territories[en.wikipedia.org] in the early 20th century, but because of increasing housing needs, most of them were rebuilt into higher capacity buildings. Few of them remain standing in Sheung Shui and Tai Po[en.wikipedia.org].
This is also my favorite buildings in Hong Kong.
This is a high-density growable residential building: level 1, 3×2.
Type in "Hong Kong RICO" in Find It! 2 to find this building.
-Rename the building to remove the sun shades above the shops.
-Note that the building does not come with vegetation.
The hanging sun shades prop used in the screenshots are Hanging Tarps
I’ve also made a modified version of this building with no shops, check Hong Kong Village House – LR2 3×2 1
