Guardrail terminal
A guardrail extruder terminal is designed to absorb the kinetic energy of an impacting vehicle on a road safety barrier. This is accomplished by deforming (flattening) the guardrail. The terminal is designed to reduce the problems associated with impacting vehicles, such as spearing, vaulting and rollover.
This type of terminal is widely diffuse around the world and can be used to protect specific and dangerous structures on the side of the road, such as gantry signs, bridge approaches, overpasses abutment, etc…
