Plattenbau office VGB-SFGH
Hello Folks,
I’m back from my half-a-year-hiatus, back with some more new stuff. I also have some other projects near completion, so my next upload hopefully should’nt be that far away.
Today’s upload is a pack of 20 2 to 8-floor office blocks with mostly beige facades and colormapped windows.
New with this asset is my use of AI-generated imagery, used for the fake interior of the windows (let me know what you think of it!).
I’m also considering a upload with some of these buildings as abandoned versions, also let me know if I should create this.

These office buildings have pretty much only been built in the later half of the 80s, some of them even finished after the reunifictaion of Germany.
The facade of the buildings is non-structural, inside is a seperate set of pillars and floor-panels which holds the structure.
This structure is highly customizeable, with different floor heights, pillar distances and window layouts all in one building.
Part of this can be seen in this asset as well, if you look closely, some buildings have a taller ground floor than the rest of the floors.
These sort of constructions would be called "Skelettbau". The seperated facade, hanging in front of the main structure is called "Vorhangfassade".
These facade panels would either be made from light materials such as glass and metal (Leichte Fassade) or heavy materials such as reinforced concrete (Schwere Fassade).
When using the reinforced concrete panels, these panels could either be around half of the floor height, with window strips inbetween or floor height (Geschosshoch), with windows inside the panels.
This is the case for these buildings, abbreviated as "SFGH" (Schwere Fassade Geschosshoch).

The 20 included buildings have been named by a system I hope is at least somewhat understandable.
"DDR" sorts them to my other assets from former East Germany.
"VGB" stands for "Vereinheitlichter Geschossbau" or "unified multi-story construction".
"SFGH" specifies the facade to be of floor height, and made of heavy materials.
"#G" indicates the number of floors per building.
The "No.#" stands for the general appearance of the building.

The 20 blocks can be found under their names, starting with "DDR VGB-SFGH" or alternatively by searching for "Plattenbau".
The outer ring of each window is color-mapped, defaulting to white.
When placing the blocks, Move It might be required.
The buildings can only be used with the RICO mod. They are level 1 to 3 office buildings with 48 to 384 workspaces each.
If used without the RICO mod, all buildings stay functionless unique buildings.
The main texture files are shared, so using the Loading Screen Mod to tremendiously cut down on file size is advised!
