Description:
Introduction

After seeing all the great new sports assets from authors such as Senfkorn and KingLeno, I realized that there were no actual soccer balls (footballs) to make the fields really come alive, so I decided to make my own. About 200 modelling, UV mapping, and Cities: Skylines tutorials later, here it is! My first custom model for the game, with many more to come. This also goes well with DeCzaah’s Football/Soccer Asset Pack and the other great various soccer-related assets on the workshop.

Stats
  • Main Model: 361 Tris
  • Main Textures: 128 x 128
  • LOD Model: 120 Tris
  • LOD Textures: 32 x 32
  • Find It (get it?) in the park menu, it uses park bench #1 as a template
  • For only $10, it costs less in-game than in real life! (Except at Walmart)

Nerd Notes™

Although it defaults to the correct plop heght on normal terrain, I have found that hills or placing on other assets can result in either sinking or floating due to the prop’s size. I recommend Move It to adjust this.
The main model utilizes a larger invisible triangle to combat prop culling, or when the prop disappears while still on the edge of your screen.
The LOD is somewhat inefficient, but shouldn’t cause any problems unless you plop this a million times. This is in an attempt to retain realism for users without great mods like Ultimate Level of Detail or Adaptive Prop Visibility Distance.
