Het Houten Huys 1420
Het Houten Huys 1420
In the heart of Amsterdam, hidden among the brick façades and narrow streets of the city center, stands a remarkable survivor from another age: Het Houten Huys, “the Wooden House.” Built in 1528, it is one of the very last wooden houses in the city, a rare reminder of a time before Amsterdam’s skyline turned almost entirely to brick and stone.
