Diana Temple
Hello folks,
Feel free to leave a comment and don’t forget to upvote — it helps unlock more historical gems.
The Dianatempel in Munich’s Hofgarten is a masterpiece of Renaissance symmetry and civic pride. Commissioned in 1615 by Maximilian I, Elector of Bavaria, and designed by Heinrich Schön the Elder, this twelve-arched pavilion was built as a focal point for the newly landscaped gardens, blending Italian elegance with Bavarian restraint.
At its center originally stood a bronze statue of Bavaria — the allegorical female figure representing the Bavarian homeland. Sadly, no accurate 3D model of the original statue exists, so I’ve chosen a close historical substitute: a Roman goddess of the hunt, sculpted in 1623 by Hubert Gerhard. With bow in hand and gaze forward, she channels the same quiet authority and grace.
Fun fact: during the Thirty Years’ War, the Hofgarten was briefly repurposed for military drills, and the Dianatempel became a shelter for officers — a curious fate for a structure meant to evoke peace and harmony.
This asset recreates the Dianatempel with historical fidelity and game-ready optimization. Perfect for classical parks, promenades, or ceremonial plazas in your city. The asset is PO-friendly, allowing you to upsize or downsize it according to your preferences.
Credit to HARTMANN 3D for the model.
