1978 Ford Thunderbird
This is the seventh generation of the Ford Thunderbird, also the best selling generation of the Thunderbird. Amassing sales right at is peak in 78 around 352,000 sold. This generation of Thunderbird would share a platform with the Mercury Cougar and the LTD II. Ford marketed this new Thunderbird as a Intermediate car, as it was shorter than its predecessor while retaining the width and height as most full size cars of the time. The car was very squared offed, it offered a wrap around roof pillar and opera windows as well as hide away headlights and drop down taillights. Starting price was around $5400 but with options one could easily get up to 8 or 9 grand.
