Description:

Created by french companies (CIMT and Alstom) between 1981-2008.

This Steel-Wheeled Subway trainset is used for mass transportation at Caracas city on Venezuela by C.A. Metro de Caracas Company. It can be seen on Istambul Metro in Turkey with 4 cars per set at married pairs ( 2xEMU = 8 cars) at M6 Line featuring ATO – CBTC (was using SACEM).

With a North-American dimensions thanks to Parsons Brinckerhoff Tudor Bechtel Project Engineering for the 1st Line (Catia-Petare) project know as (Pro Patria-Palo Verde). These 70-footers subway cars can carry 250pax per cars with a max speed of 80km/h (50 mph) between 4 to 7 cars máximum using third rail superior contact at 750v and an ATO called PA-135Khz developed by another french company called Matra Transportation (today Siemens Mobility Transportation) used on many french-based subway systems like Mexico City, Prague, Paris, Lille, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago de Chile (deprecated), and Caracas.

Between 1981 to 2008. Alstom made some improvements to the trainset for every bid they participated. Specially on traction equipment (since Chopper-Thyristor passing GTO-VVVF ending with IGBT-VVVF).

The first generation of trainset creating a doo-doo-duu sound similar to MR-63 trainset on Motreal – Canada.

Today still running on Caracas Subway Line 2 and 3 with the oldest traction equipment. While in Line 1 (Propatria – Palo Verde) has been replaced by CAF trainsets.
