1963 Studebaker Champ
Towards the end of Studebakers tenure they offered a ‘fresh’ take on their aging truck line. A smaller truck yet big in capability. Using the same chassis from the previous line of trucks from the early 50s, Studebaker designers decided on taking a Lark 4 door body, chopped it in half to fit to the body mounts of the truck chassis. While the cargo bed was from previous model as well, only slightly widened for the first model year (60-61). In late 1961 Studebaker struck a deal with Dodge and began to use their cargo beds for the remaining years of the Champ line (late 61-64) both in short length and longer lengths. You could get the Champ in 4 engine options; 6 cyl 170cu-in or 245cu-in. Or V8 259cu-in or 289cu-in. The Champ would be the last truck produced by Studebaker.
This is the first truck to have sliding glass rear window.
