Description:

The JR West 273 Series Yakumo Limited Express train began operation in April 2024 due to the aging of the JNR 381 Series.
Each train consists of four cars, and one bogie on each car is a powered car (0.5M car), achieving balance throughout the train and standardizing its structure. The pendulum-type car body has been improved to enable high-speed travel on uneven mountainous terrain, making it more comfortable than the 381 Series.
It normally operates as a four-car train, but during busy periods it operates as an eight-car train (connecting two four-car trains).
This time, we have prepared a four-car set, an eight-car set, and a prop version of the railway asset.

<Asset>
4-Car Set
– Car Configuration: KuMoRoHa 272 + MoHa 273-100 + MoHa 272-100 + KuMoHa 273
– Speed: 120 km/h, Capacity: 193

8-Car Set
– Car Configuration: KuMoRoHa 272 + MoHa 273-100 + MoHa 272-100 + KuMoHa 273 + KuMoRoHa 272 + MoHa 273-100 + MoHa 272-100 + KuMoHa 273
– Speed: 120 km/h, Capacity: 386

Other
– Direction sign: Forward: Izumo City, Reverse: Okayama (UV animation: building)
* The real version is hidden while in motion, but this asset remains visible.
* The illustration changes every 15 seconds. The real version changes frequently.
– Car number and seating signs alternate between Japanese and English (UV animation: building)
* The real version is hidden while in motion, but this asset remains visible.
– Rotating air conditioning fans on the roof of each vehicle (UV animation: building)
* Visually representing the fan rotation at approximately 100 RPM
* Rotation speeds of each fan were adjusted accordingly.
– Headlight and taillight rendering (UV animation: Building)
– Driving sounds implemented (recorded and edited by me)

Props
Basic
– KuMoHa 272, MoHa 273-100, MoHa 272-100, KuMoHa 273, KuMoHa 272 (Mid-range), KuMoHa 273 (Mid-range)
– Pantographs (Raised and Lowered, for MoHa 273-100 and KuMoHa 273) – Total of 8
*We recommend using this product on completely flat terrain.

Advanced
– Interior lights, headlights, and taillights are included for cars 1 through 8.
– Two types of destination signage and blackout curtains (large and small) are also included.
* Place the basic props first before decorating.
* Installing the blackout curtains is difficult, requiring fine adjustments and requires careful individual setup, so this is for experts.

Regarding this asset’s specifications
– Due to my own intricate work, the amount of geometric data (triangles) is very large.
Railway Assets
KuMoHa 273 and MoHa 273-100 are nearly 70,000 including sub-meshes.
KuMoRoHa 272 and MoHa 272-100 are around 42,000.
Prop Set
The car bodies are 42,000 each, the pantographs are 14,000, and the rest are less than 50.

– The texture size is a standard maximum of 1024×1024.
– I hit the asset editor’s loading limit, which took a very long time to adjust.
– Since submeshes cannot be used for the prop version, the geometry had to be simplified, which took even more time.
– The real train is designed to hide the destination sign, vehicle number, and seat display while the train is in motion,
but I tried fiddling with the submesh flags, but it didn’t work.So I reluctantly left them displayed even while the train is in motion. I wish it could hide them once the train exceeds a certain speed.I guess this is the limit of the system.
– For animation, UV animation was used for Building.
In the end, I finished the air conditioner fan using Building to minimize light emission.
This is because if I used Prop, it was difficult to tell if the fan was actually rotating when the asset was actually running.

Update Information: September 15, 2025
– Public Release
– Added props (to show the game in operation).
– Changed prop names to reflect the use of "Find It."
(Props placed in the game during the limited release will likely be lost, so please reposition them.)

Update Information: August 22, 2025
– Added props.
Kumoha 272, Kumoha 272 (coupled), Moha 273-100, Moha 272-100, Kumoha 273, Kumoha 273 (coupled),
Pantograph (for Moha 273-100 and Kumoha 273, two positions: raised and lowered) – 8 props in total.

Update Information: August 8, 2025
– Added an 8-car train. Handle with care as it may not fit into stations.
– Headlights and taillights are now supported using UV animation: building.
This eliminates the black shadows that appear when switching to LOD, a flaw or issue with Additive Shader.
– Shape data has been added as there was a void appearing depending on the viewing angle.
– Cables and other items have been added to the back of Moha 272-100 to make it look more realistic.
– The orange colour of the headlights has been strengthened.
– The texture of the wiring on the roof of Moha 273-100 has been corrected.
– The sounds of the train running, stopping and departing overlapped, so the sounds when stopping have been shortened to reduce the overlap.

Your support will help us create even more assets.
