Munich Tram Shelter #3 Ostbahnhof
This small station building and tram shelter stood in front of the East Station (Ostbahnhof) in the German City of Munich and served different tram lines. Constructed in 1912, it contained a waiting room, the station master’s office, and a room for tools and equipment.
During the Second World War, the building was damaged by fire. In the post-war years, it was rebuilt with a smaller roof and an open-air extension, while continuing to serve its original function. The building was eventually demolished in 1971 as part of the reconstruction of Ostbahnhof and the redevelopment of the stations surroundings. Today, an extensive bus shelter sits on the site, though tram services still continue to serve the station.
