Description:

Swanston Square is made up of a 34-storey residential tower and the heritage listed Maltstore (not included), which has undergone restoration works to accommodate new retail and commercial spaces.

The tower façade features the face of William Barak, an indigenous elder of the Wurundjeri Tribe.

About:
This is my first attempt at a tower and all was going well until I downsized the texture and went a bit muddy at lower resolutions. I had a hard time posting a lower resolution version of this (because I don’t think it looks all that good), but can post it if there is any demand. I think this may look better if I was to retexture it at a lower resolution to begin with rather than trying to scale it down, but will post this as is for now as I have spent way too long on this and want to get back to my residential series. Of course if anyone wants to take a stab at this, more than happy to post the texture files, for those who don’t want to use Mod Tools.

Swanston Square is part of the Carlton United Brewery redevelopment and is primarily a student residence. The front facade is of William Barak, who was a 19th century aboriginal artist. The building was intended to be optimally viewable from the Shrine of Rememberance in Melbourne.
