Welcome to The Great Divide: a region of 2 opposite halves. Many millions of years ago, long before humans roamed the Earth; earthquakes shook this region. All this violence tore the big continent apart. A great canyon formed, and divided the lands. When settlers arrived on either side of the canyon, they never met their neighbours for hundreds of years.
Today, The Great Divide is in the Kingdom of Robonia (a land I didn’t make up). The Great Divide is also still known as Two Frontiers, because for many decades The Great Divide was the border between the 2 nations of Ro, and Bon, and for both countries these lands were the last frontiers ready to be explored … but when Crown Prince Stephen of Ro and Crown Princess Leela of Bon married; their 2 countries became 1. To celebrate this blessed union: The Great Bridge was built over The Great Divide: finally uniting the 2 nations, and bring peace and prosperity to the whole region.

Your task is to build thriving communities on both sides of The Great Divide. You have to make some difficult choices from the start: which side of The Great Divide will you concentrate on? Are your Cims green fingered, so you send them to work on the fertile fields, or will you send them to the dusty and dirty oil fields, and ore mines? The choice you make will decide what resources you have access to, and which types of transport you have easy access to.
Choose wisely my liege.

No DLC is required for this map … only free assets (and Theme, and Mods) from the Workshop are required.

This map is made for 81 tiles, but it can also be played with 25 tiles, but 81 tiles is highly recommended; because you will find many extra treasures – including a lake where you can place an 800MW dam, and your Cims can enjoy the Condor drawn by the Nazca.
You really need Network extensions 2 mod for the roads.
79% buildable area,
4 road connections,
4 rail connections,
4 ship routes,
2 air connections.
There is plenty of farmland. Forests, oil, and ore areas are also available for you.
The waterflow is strong, so you will have no problems with your sewage and water supply – and you can place your water inlet and sewage treatment plants easily in your start square.

This map has only 111,000 vanilla trees – so it should be easy on your computer.
If you are a detailer and you don’t like vanilla trees; you can easily replace the vanilla trees with trees you love by using the Mod: Prop it Up! 1.4.4 (by Judazzz)

And I also recommend the Mod to improve the LOD for vanilla trees: Tree LOD Fix (by TPB)

Because I use all 81 tiles, some map areas at the edges are better without the edge fog on. That is why I recommend the Clouds & Fog Toggler Mod (by BloodyPenguin)

Please subscribe to my lighthouse too: it is based on the vanilla Lighthouse, but I added lamps from the Lights After Dark Series by Populous, so it lights up at night.

The map looks really good at night. So – if you normally play with daylight only: please have a look around when it is dark, because you will find really beautiful areas that come alive with the lights I placed.

………………. LUT ……………..
I put the Photorealistic_lut_Final_by_Reaper in as a required item: this LUT looks good, but you don’t have to use it. But if you like vibrant colours – like I do: then I recommend the Realistic Sky LUT by TX3 Storm …. this is the one I use myself when I build on my map, and I love this LUT — it is very warm, and the mountains get these beautiful red colours,, the yellows are vibrant, and the greens are very green, but not Mario Bros Style tacky green, and the water is rich blue.

I really enjoyed creating my map … I hope you enjoy playing my map – please make it YOUR map: build the city of your dreams. Let me know if you like my map; and I will make more maps for you.

A big thank you goes out to all of you asset creators: I love your creativity and generosity. I have used some of your assets to make my map, and I thank you for sharing.
