Theme Building
Did an alien space ship land? Nope, that’s just 1960’s populuxe architecture. The Theme building is located in the middle of the Los Angeles International Airport and is the most iconic structure there. It is a great example to the Googie movement and the culture of the 60’s. The building featured a restaurant (that once rotated giving a 360 view of the airport) and an observation deck on top of the ‘flying saucer’. Today the observation deck is only open on weekends and the restaurant is currently closed.
