The R180 are the latest batch of diesel-electric locomotives owned by the Taiwan Railway Administration ( 台鐵TRA ). It was produced by Electro-Motive Diesel ( EMD ) and same as G22CU-2. They are commonly used in the double heading of cargo trains on the Taiwan North-link line.
The 35N23000 is the largest in the series of TRA railcars, a total of 250 vehicles. Normally, the whole train is a "grain train" type of the covered hopper cars, and the grain raw materials are sent from Taichung Port to a large food processing plant next to the Fugang Station for production.
