Welcome to Palermo/Sicily!
Be shot by Mafia… or better: build your own city of „Palermo“, enjoy beautiful landscape of Sicily with huge timbered mountains, lush vegetation, good smelling maquis or do some white-water rafting on the river.
Around your starting-square you will find enough space to build a wide-ranging city before going up to the mountains.
You will find all of the four resources like farmland, forestry, ore and even oil within the 25 tiles (mod: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=405810376&searchtext=25+tiles)
– and if you will play it with 81-tiles-mod (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=576327847&searchtext=81+tiles) in the outer regions as well. The amount of oil isn‘t that much (to keep it as close to reality as possible).
There are 4 highway-connections ( 2 West, 1 South, 1 East),
4 ship-routes (1 West, 1 North, 2 East), planes go to all directions.
You will find two train connections, one is coming from the East, the other from the West. They are NOT connected (until you do it), both end in the starting-tile, so you can plan your rail-network as you wish.
The waterflow in your start-area isn’t that much, because first access to water is the port basin, which is okay for the early game, but later on you should find a better place for the sewage, maybe at the shore.
The imported heightmap is real, decoration and streets are „freehand“ and count as „artistic license“ by me 😉 , but where possible I tried to recreate the area as realistic as possible and still playable in CSL.
To have full visual benefit, it’s necessary to download some items like trees and props – see link beside. You can also download them with one click from my Palermo_Italy-collection: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1346217639 . Without that you will have a non-decorated map – and the map looses it’s charme.
Best play with 25-tiles-mod. Also playable with 81-tiles-mod, the outer regions are decorated also, but less than the inner 25 tiles.
