Cargo Relay Centre
This is the return of my old Cargo station. For those of you that once had that asset, I took it down because the underground tunnels (this is after the snowfall update) caused major structural issues with the intersection. Some of you may have noticed large indentations in the ground were present after reloading a saved game; after having placed down any fresh copies of it in your city.
This is a complete remake from the ground up. I could not get rid of the problem caused by unground tunnels, however, I have instead created bridges to replace them. As well as this change, I’ve also made the intersection to a more precise measure. So it’s neater, fits better and is also slightly more efficient as a result.

Important information:
• Will hold two cargo stations with no issue, CAN hold up to 4 on other side of the roads, (however I would not recommend it).
• Its design caters primarily to rail line traffic.
• It is an Asset, NOT a mod, and will not cause any compatibility issues with any mod, made by other players in any direct way what so ever. It’s literally impossible. However, the mods of other players can affect stats and appearance (such as the tarmac/black roads mod). Please keep this in mind.
• The four lane roads ARE upgradable to six lanes. However, as you can see in the screen shots, I’ve intentionally left the middle sections as four lanes. This is so that the mid-road divider stops traffic from cutting in front of opposing lanes. It will be counter-productive to use a vanilla six lane road on those sections.
• No DLCs are needed to use it. It should work with all of the DLC though, if you have them. Please keep in mind that it is designed, specifically, to work with the vanilla, base game cargo station.
Construction Details and advice:
Size = 64 zoning Tiles long x 27 zoning tiles wide
That’s an area of 728 square metres, or 91 zoning tiles.
Construction cost = 163,616 + 2,697 per week in upkeep. This is including two vanilla cargo stations.
It’s easy to use, all you have to do is decide where in your city to put it, and then use the markers I’ve placed down (in the form of pavement and rail line placements) to place the cargo stations. Connect it to your road and rail system and that’s your job done.
You will need an efficient road system in its immediate, surrounding area or you will find yourself dealing with heavy backups.
It’s designed with cargo rail traffic efficiency in mind. Its biggest limitation is actually the road traffic itself. Which will remain efficient (taking into account upgraded roads too) with low to Heavy traffic. Just as an indicator for potential users; in my screen shots that show six lane road usage; that is on the light side of heavy traffic.
I’d also advise, that if you play on limited money, to only lay down this asset once you have a population of at least 36,000 people/cims living and working within your city and a steady income in the modest side of 5 figures. I highly recommend it for anyone that enjoys creating plenty of industry and commercial zones.
Additional Fluff, you probably do not strictly need:
I actually love how well it works. If you place your cities critical infrastructure just right, it’ll force the AI agents to use both stations. That of course is the entire idea behind it. By using two stations, it doubles your industry potential and at the same time, keeps them close/compact to be as space efficient as possible. It basically doubles your cities industrial potential because the rail lines have twice the capacity. Keep in mind though, that the AI will only use both stations if you force it to, by giving them more than one place/direction to go, plus careful placement of nearby industry and commercial.
With all of that said, I hope you enjoy using this asset;
