Bay Bridge Network – Draggable Double Deck Suspension Bridge
Check out the tutorial linked above for best bridgelaying results!
A network based large suspension bridge and other associated network toys!
This bridge is a replica of the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge (altered slightly for C:S network compatibility), and is network based to provide ultimate flexibility to span anything you may need it to!
The pack is made up of three networks, each in a 4 lane one way and a 4 lane two way version – the Bridge, the Approach, and the Lower Deck.
The Bridge network contains the actual large suspension bridge as the bridge network, and special anchorage segments as the elevated network. Drag the elevated segments AWAY from the suspension bridge parts for best results.
The Approach network consists of the same truss sections as the bridge, but with large truss pillars holding it up. It’s best used for bridge approaches, but also looks great as an overpass or smaller bridge, usually built before 1960.
The Lower Deck network is a thin roadway deck with small pillars in the elevated form, and no pillars or streetlamps in the bridge form. This makes it fit perfectly inside the truss of the other networks with a little MoveIt help, but it can also work really well as a short overpass, bridge, or anything else with a short span and a low weight capacity.
Phew. That’s a lot of description. Basically, with Fine Road Anarchy and MoveIt you can do a whole lot of cool stuff. Have fun and post pictures of what you come up with! The trusses make a good place for rail lines, Metro Overhaul lines, or even monorail tracks if you remove the lights and pillars with Network Skins, and I’ll be making official matching versions for most transit networks at some point as well.
Let me know what other bridges you may like to see! I have a long list to make already but I can change suspension pillars and anchorages pretty easily, so if there’s something cool to make, it won’t take me too long!
