A New Hope Rattified

This map is the result of me being inspired by Black Fire’s map A New Hope http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1190437626, as seen on BonBonB’s What Map #187 https://youtu.be/qn3zFcj0dHw, but wanting to make a few tweaks before starting a city build … however the amount of work put in ended up being a bit more than a few tweaks.

The updates to Black Fire’s map have focused on the following:
– Addressing the comments made by BonBonB in his review.
– Smoothing out and/or re-configuring most of the 9 highway intersections.
– Smoothing out the steepest slopes on the road and rail networks, which involved some minor re-routing and terraforming in some areas.
– Incorporating custom bridge assets where the vanilla bridges looked somewhat out of place due to the scale of the landscape.
– A couple of detailing surprises.

The original striking features of Black Fire’s map have been retained, including the following:
– Map is optimized for 25 tiles
– Maximum number of in/outgoing connections available (4x road, 4x train, 4x ship, 2x plane)
– Shipping routes on 3 different levels!
– All resources available
– International map (non european)
– Lots of nice places with a breathtaking view on your city

In addition to the required assets listed, the following mods are recommended as they may be needed to connect to the highways in locations where they are pushed together and/or or built above rail lines.

If you’re interested, you can note in the comments on the original map Black Fire has generally endorsed what I have done; and has reviewed an initial version and provided feedback which I have tried to incorporate where my skills allow. A big thanks to Black Fire for this, and obviously for creating the initial amazing map.
