TrailerVariation Loader
Allows the use of variations for custom vehicle assets, like truck trailers and cargo wagons. Think empty vs. loaded log trucks. This mod is required for end users (and asset creators) that want to use custom assets using this feature.
Submesh variation masks are a way to use different submeshes for different cargo loads, be it full or empty. You can see this in action in game on the cargo train since the Industries patch. Unfortunately the game doesn’t support custom assets that use these masks: they simply don’t get saved or loaded, leading to all submeshes appearing at once.
For end users
If an asset lists this as a requirement, just sub to this and the asset will work.
For asset creators
Assets saved with Extended Asset Editor will automatically be set up correctly for use with this mod as of version 0.4.10, so no need to run scripts to configure them for use with this mod. Just edit the submeshes’ variation masks, save them (with that mod’s save button!) and they will work with this mod!
NOTE: You CAN NOT use things like the additive shader on any submesh that has a non-zero variation mask! If the mask is 0 you’re fine though.
