Toronto Style Elementary School 3
The third Elementary School in my series of Schools from Toronto Ontario, Canada. This is a recreation of Tecumseh Senior Public School (7-8).
The school this asset is based off of isn’t actually an Elementary School but is a Middle School; however since C:S has no Middle School this asset serves as an Elementary instead. Tecumseh Sr PS opened in 1967 and was designed by "Fairfield and Dubois". It was also the first purpose built Middle School in Scarborough. The school has the distinct "concrete" construction style that was all the rage in Toronto’s school boards back in the 60’s and 70’s. It seems that at some point in the 60’s most of Toronto’s school boards abandoned brick and mortar construction in favor of prefabricated concrete. This was likely done as a way to reduce costs and construction time as the School Boards needed to keep up with Toronto’s rapid suburban expansion.
The facility contains 8 Standard Classrooms, 1 Science Labs, Gymnasium, Library, and Cafeteria (with stage).
