Ansair Orana – Sydney Buses (New TNSW Livery)
Another Sydney bus to add to your fleet – This one has been repainted in the latest Transport for New South Wales (TNSW) colour scheme.
Another Sydney bus to add to your fleet. This particular Ansair Orana uses a 234 bhp Euro 1 engine. 54 of these buses entered service through 1996-1998 (specifically the varient this model is based on) and remains in service today. The body is built by Ansair and was the first wheelchair-accessible low floor bus model in the NSW Transit fleet.
This bus is renown to have issues when temperatures exceed 30 degrees celcius. The high air conditioning setting required on these days often causes the engine to overheat, due to a design issue with the engine. As a result, on hot days, the air conditioning has to be turned off, leading to an uncomfortable ride for passengers. In most cases, the engine will still overheat with the AC turned off.
Fun fact: On 15 September 2016, Bus 3726 caught fire and burnt on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
