5.18 Memorial Tower, Gwangju S.Korea
In Memory of Gwangju Minjung in May 18 Democratic Uprising
HOMINES POSSUNT HISTORIAM CONDONARE, SED DEUS NON VULT.
This Memorable Plaza Asset is one part of my 5.18 Uprising Collection, basic on main tower of South Korea’s National Cemetery for the May 18th Democratic Uprising.
Today (May 18th) is the 40th anniversary of 5.18 uprising. History will repeat itself if you do not speak the truth and do not remember the past. Just like the song March for the Beloved says:
We will leave no honors, no love, no fame. We promised to keep working on, long as we shall live Streams and mountains remember though the years pass by Waken’d spirits are calling us as they shout this cry: “We are marching on; keep faith n follow us.” “We are marking on; keep faith n follow us.” Dear comrades have gone; our flag still waves. While working for days to come we will not be swayed Streams and mountains remember though the years pass by Waken’d spirits are calling us as they shout this cry: “We are marching on; keep faith n follow us.” “We are marking on; keep faith n follow us.”
