Description:
IF YOU LIKE IT, RATE UP, PLEASE! Helps more people find this, too

DO NOT USE THESE TO REPLACE NORMAL TERRAFORMING TOOLS IF YOU DON’T HAVE TO. IF YOU DON’T GET WHY, READ THIS DESCRIPTION COMPLETELY.

Menu location: Landscaping, water structures (where canals are).
Find It: Type Sp3 or terra to see all the nets.

Hello peeps, I’m back with another network edit. This time, we’re building on Ronyx’s Terraforming Network. If you know what this is, I’ll let you guys scroll down for what’s new. If you’re not sure what this is, move on to the next paragraph!

The Terraforming Network is basically a blank, invisible network (eg, road, wall, quay, etc.) that flattens terrain. You know how if you raise a road up with Move It, it brings up terrain and it looks like you’ve made a dam? Or you lower it and you’ve made a ditch? Well, sometimes its method of forcing terrain higher or lower is really useful, particularly because the game’s terraforming tools use fairly big brushes, and is imprecise. If you want to see examples of uses, see the pictures, and I’ll upload a video later.

Y U NO WANT ME USE THIS TO TERRAFORM ANYTIME N ANYTHING I WANT??

Because these are networks, they can interfere with other stuff you try to place or build. They are thus usually best used after you’ve plopped the main stuff and just want corrections to something glitchy or janky but the game can’t do it normally., so use them for the special cases they are meant for:

1. When you need finer control than terraforming tools allow.
2. When you need the strongest way to force a terrain height.
3. When you want clean edges to a plot of land.
4. When you want to make a very straight slope in terrain.

See the pictures for clear examples.

So What’s Different About This One?
  • + "Extended" the network options from 1U to 12U widths.
  • + No underwater complaints! Use this anywhere on the map!
  • + Nodes now have smooth curves just like roads do.
  • + Terrain elevations overlay gets enabled when placing.
  • + High slope tolerance even without Fine Road Anarchy.
  • + All costs are 0. It’s not your fault the construction company janked stuff up. 🙂
  • + Only the most practical ones are in the menus to not spam. Use Find It for the rest.
  • – Cannot be drawn too close to another terraforming network.
  • – Cannot use the upgrade tool to change the original one into these.

What’s Included

U stands for unit; a square in the map’s grid, same size as the zoning squares.

  • 0.5 U – Actually 1U because the game can’t terraform less than that. The deal is it has very straight sides but most noticeable ONLY IF you happen to draw along the map grid. In other words, likely useless.
    Use Find It.
  • 1 U – The classic size.
    It’s in the menu.
  • 2 U – Classic, but double, no cheese.
It’s in the menu. And what’s for dinner.
  • 4 U – Probably the widest you’ll reasonably need. It’s the last you get in-game.
    It’s last on the menu.
  • 6 U – Wide enough that the game’s terraforming tools can likely work for you. But just in case you need the cleaner slope, forced elevation, and don’t mind a network doing it and you’re sure it won’t annoy you…here you go. Moar for u.
    Use Find It.
  • 8 U – Same as above.
    Use Find it
  • 12 U – Who would need this??
    Use Find It.

That’s it everybody! Let me know if I need to inform of anything else. Enjoy.

Special thanks for Ronyx69 for the original asset and being totally cool with this new version.
Thanks as well to nilepereiraa and bobsymay for help or trying to help, haha, Whisperwalk and Ronyx69 for help and asset making resources, and Chameleon for discussion and testing.

Let me know if you have pictures that show off the 2U and larger

Before and afters would be great.

Q&A
  • Is this Q&A a joke?
  • Yes it is.
  • It will possible to have a giant version ?
  • Here it is!
  • Is it compatible with Daylight Classic?
  • Only if you use Nightlight Classic. And a teddy bear.
  • How may tris?
  • Chris’s hiss missed Trist’s list so Trist missed Chris’s gist to list tris.
  • Can I really use this without the ability to read?
  • … — — . / … .- -.– / .. – / — .- -.– / -… . / .–. .-. . ..-. . .-. .- -… .-.. . / – — / …. .- …- . / – …. . / .- -… .. .-.. .. – -.– / – — / .-.. .. … – . -. .-.-.-
  • Will this raise me up so I can stand on mountains?
  • No, but it can raise mountains up to walk on stormy seas
  • Is this a mod, prop or asset?
  • Yes.
  • Will it make me a cheesecake?
  • Untested but not disproven.

    New questions:

  • Will you make a vehicle version? 😀
  • When Colossal Order stops being lazy and finally makes the highly-demanded Monster Truck Racing DLC, I should be able to make a script to make the monster trucks stomp down terrain.
  • Is it compatible with Sunset Harbor?
  • A ferry crashed into my Sunset Harbor, but Sunrise Harbor and Sunset Docks seem fine.
  • Are they visible with sun glasses?
  • Invisible means light is oblivious to the network, but sunglasses will polarize light. There is no medication to treat light that is bipolar, so please do not release such a thing into the universe.
  • does it need the railway mod ?
  • A mod? Away with the mods and bring in the Anarchy!
  • any plans for a lite version a la gigaforming network?
  • No, but since this risks harming animals and their habitats, a PETAforming network is under consideration.
  • Can we get a version of this that doesn’t flatten the terrain?
  • For conforming networks, zone commercial (COM zones) right by Forestry (FOR zones), make a T intersection (T) and you will have made a COMFORT zone that won’t level up.
  • Can it prevent my cats from pushing things off the edge of the map?
  • CO has been lying to you. The map isn’t flat. It’s ROUND. If you add more nodes to a road but keep the same "length," Cims think it’s longer. How do you explain that? Because it’s following the curvature and IS longer. WAKE UP.
