Description:
Pack of two Daopulse IP65 street lights.

This is a very common solar powered lamp.

Recommended for parking lots and landscaped walks.

You´ll need the "Custom Effect Loader" MOD because they use their own light effect, included in an xml file.

All light share the same Diffuse, Normal, Color and Specular maps.

New Light effects

I have included a light effect file "EffectsDefinition.xml" that contains 9 different effects. I have tried to simulate modern low light pollution lights and added some orange lights that were missing from the game. You can find this XML file, next to the streetlight CRP files, in the 255710 directory of your STEAM folder, for example: "C:Program Filessteamsteamappsworkshopcontent255710". Seek for "daopulse*.crp"

I advise moving that file to the game assets folder: "C:Users<username>AppDataLocalColossal Order". In this way you can have and apply those effects even when you unsubscribe from this MOD (don’t forget to remove it from 255710 folder so as not to duplicate it).

You can also save your own effects to that file, modify one of them, or remove those effects that you’ll not use. You just need an XML editor (for example the "XML Notepad 2007" from Microsoft, it’s free).

How to apply a light effect

Load the streetlight to which you want to apply the new light effect into the asset editor. I advise saving a screenshot from the list before loading it, for editing with any image editor, in case you lose the snapshot picture. Expand the "effects" section of the properties panel and apply the required effect. Slide the "day/night control" cursor to the right to check the effect applied. When you are satisfied with the result, save the streetlight. If you saved a screenshot, it will be time to edit it in order to reset the snapshot.

You can save the result with the same name or with a new one. In any case, a new CRP file asset will have been created in the game assets folder: "C:Users<username>AppDataLocalColossal Order". If you saved it with the same name, it’ll now be duplicated. You can choose to replace the old one in the steam 255710 folder or delete it from there and keep the new one. If you save it with a different name (be carefull: asset name and file name), you’ll now have two equal lights with different names and effects.
