NAF Street and Traffic Lights
(note: preview image is out of date and reflects previous models, I’ll update it later)
This is a pack of traffic lights and street lights to be used for my "North American Freeways" project.
Most of the credit for these goes to Feare; the original models and textures come from the USRP Lights. These were great assets and very close to the look I was going for, I just remodeled them some to fit my roads.
The pack also includes the stop sign from the DOT Regulatory Signs Pack by Spence!
It’s possible that I’ll expand this pack to accomodate future roads.
Because I know somebody will ask, I’m not presently planning to do a version with yellow boxes. But who knows, maybe someday.
This is not a mod and will not automatically replace any existing street lights. Right now they’ll only show up if you use my roads or if you place them manually. If you’re just here for the dependency, you can ignore all this.
The main models range from about 1000 to 2200 for the full size traffic lights and around 400 to 500 for the street lights.
The LODs for the traffic lights range from about 150 to 300, and about 50 to 60 for the street lights.
All lights in this pack share a 512 x 512 texture set, so Loading Screen Mod will eliminate most of the RAM requirement.
– Traffic Lights on the "far" side of one-way road intersections will skip the yellow light. Without getting into details, this is just a limitation of the game’s programming, and I don’t think anyone has found a workaround yet.
– Network Skins 2 gets confused when anything other than street lights use a lighting effect. Therefor, while the traffic lights are modeled with attached street lights, these don’t turn on at night. This was a reluctant compromise to keep my roads Network Skins compatible.
– There’s no known method for getting traffic lights to spawn on the far end of a T-intersection. You’ll have to place them manually if you want them.
