Olofsborg 1690
Swedish: Olofsborg; Finnish: Olavinlinna; literally Olaf’s Castle is a 15th-century castle located in Savonlinna, Finland. It is built on an island in the Kyrönsalmi strait that connects the lakes Haukivesi and Pihlajavesi. It is the northernmost medieval stone fortress still standing.
My model presents how the castle may have looked like around year 1690, before one of the five towers was demolished and another tower was destroyed. Other major changes to castle were made in 18th century when part of the castle was converted into a bastion fort.
