Plattenbau WHH6/9 Leipzig [RICO]
Hello Folks,
today I present you my first asset for the year 2021. Let’s start it off with two residential blocks from Leipzig.
These 9 and 6-floor tall housing towers can be found all over Leipzig and surrounding towns.
I recreated these blocks with original blueprints I found, which date back to the year 1981.
The first version of the 9-floor block wounded up to be 10,000 Tris and wasn’t even finished. So I had to try out a new modeling/texturing technique.
The result was pretty good, as I cut down the Tris count for every single prefab panel from 8 to only 2 Tris. The finished 9-floor block now sits at 9,000 Tris with all its details.
The new technique proved to be viable, so I will most likely use it for all my upcoming Plattenbau-assets.
One new feature I also added is the basement layer, which now extends below ground level. Placing the building on slopes should look much better now.
Now for the model:
This asset consists of 2 towers with 5×4 lot size, both come with color mapped balconies. Both blocks are RICO only! The 9-floor Building has 80 homes, the 6-floor one has 54.
Both blocks share the same base texture file, so users of the Loading Screen Mod can save on RAM here.
