Description:

This is my attempt to build a map that is ready for heavy traffic. The concept is to have a large flatish area in front of a mountain backdrop and a combined highway and rail network. That gave me the opportunity to play around with different intersections that combine these two. I just like the look of trains and cars side by side and crossing over each other. On some sections where there are two train tracks alongside each other I added some ‘mystery tunnels’ that allow trains to switch tracks, so it is not meant to be realistic.

All intersections are custom-made with the exception of "Rotary" by agusingnavy, which I tweaked a bit to fit my needs.

This is my first map, so if you experience any weird stuff with it, please let me know. I haven’t figured out how to polish the terrain near the harbor quays in the map editor. I read it is not possible, but I honestly don’t know. In game, it is very easy to do that using landscapng tools.

I left most of the terrain in the middle empty so you can fill it up with your ideas completely.
Whether you want to bulid a nice old castle on the hill at the river bend or a futuristic kind of city or something completely different is up to you.
I stayed under the tree limit but there are not many trees left, so you probably need to use the Unlimited Trees mod or delete some trees in the outskirts when you expand your city.

TM:PE and 81 Tiles are recommended as well.

Screenshots taken with the Cleyra Map Theme and LUT and Daylight Classic (all to classic).
