Ministerio del Interior
Based on the iconic building on the Plaza de la Revolución, Havana, Cuba, this instantly recognisable building houses Cuba’s Ministry of Interior. Actually dated from before the Cuban Revolution (1958), the building’s most recognisable feature, it’s iron stencil outline of the revolutionary icon Ernesto “Che” Guevara was actually added in 1995, and based on the famous photograph of Che taken by Alberto Korda. Written underneath are the words “Hasta La Victoria Simpre” (Ever Onward to Victory), the final words written in Che’s last letter to Fidel Castro before he was killed in Bolivia in 1967.
