A map of the city of Duisburg in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The map is created in the original scale with a side length of 17.28km.
I made a conscious decision to lay the section of the city somewhat south-west in order to include a little land area with fields, etc. (along the Rhine) so that the map does not become a pure concrete desert.
The motorway network is already completely in place (apart from motorway junctions).
An external connection is only available for the A59 and the A40, since Cities Skylines does not allow more than 4 connections. These two motorways are therefore already connected to the Duisburg motorway junction.
I decided to create this map, because unfortunately I did not find an original scaled Duisburg map. Either they are always too compact or they are pulled too far apart.
Here you can actually use a map overlay and recreate the city on an original scale 1 to 1.
The starting area at the "Bridge of Solidarity" is not optimal, but the starting tile needs running water. In order to be as close to the city as possible at the same time, I chose the tile in the Hochfeld area.
In case of doubt I recommend an addon to unlock more / all tiles right at the start.
The map is planned so that you can build it up to all edges.
I hope you like the map and hope you enjoy building it.
