Strauss Road Bridge
The Strauss Road Bridge is bit rusty but it still opens for ship traffic. Place it over a ship or ferry path and watch it in action. Extend the bridge with the included Strauss Bridge Road to the length you need, and place the Strauss Bridge Column under it for support. The Bridge can be found in the road intersections menu, or of course with FindIt.
Vessels small enough to fit under the bridge don’t need to wait for the bridge opening, fine tune the height of the bridge with Move-it so it only opens for the traffic you want it to open for.
You will need to subscribe to the Custom Animation Loader mod and the Movable Bridge Mod. Fine Road Anarchy is needed to place it over a Ferry path. And, because there is a lot of texture re-use, the Loading Screen Mod is recommended.
To use some technical terms, this bridge is a single leaf heel trunnion bascule bridge. This type of design was pioneered by the famous bridge engineer Joseph Strauss. By placing the counterweight overhead instead of below the road deck it eleminated the need for a large basement and this made the bridge cheaper. There are many bridges of this design throughout the world, this particular bridge is modelled after the Kruisschansbrug in the Antwerp harbor. See it here[www.google.com] on Google Maps.
